A new rose has been baptised in Ieper on Friday 18 June. (23/06/2010)
For some years the Rotary Club Ieper support the project Maisha.
Maisha is a Swahili word meaning 'life'.
The Fondation Maisha is an organization for street children in Lubumbashi, Congo (Zaire). http://www.fondationmaisha.org/
On Friday 18th Juin, at 19 h. in the Cloth Hall of Ieper (Ypres) a new rose: Maisha will be baptised in the presence of his godmother Laurence Machiels and his godfather Paul Breyne, gouvernor of the Province of West-Flanders. Father Vanden Bussche who returns to Lubumbashi next week and Mr. Geert Flamang have explained the enthousiast audience about the aim and their experience with the Maisha project.
The idea for this project comes from Mr. Piet Vergauwe a great rose lover.
